New beer alert. Well, almost new beer - we’ve been selling it for a couple weeks, but finally have a name for it and time to tell its story.
We love our Belgians - we’re talking beers (but the people are great too!). We have our Carolina Saison, which is refreshing and spicy, brewed for the farmhands of yesteryear. It’s a nice introduction into Kingdom B’s beers; but let us move off the farm and into the ecclesial realm. As the farmhands need a beer to power their farm duties; monks need a beer too, but a little bit stronger, to power their cloistered responsibilities. Enter the Dubbel, a strong rich brown beer. It’s toffee and raisins with a follow-up of roasted malts. Just what the monk in you needs.
And for this particular batch we have a lot of thanks to give to some of the students from Dr. Gustavo Leite’s industrial microbiology course from the Université Sainte-Anne. They were kind enough to come down to the brewery and give us a hand. In honour of their visit, we’re calling the beer - Dubbel Major.
